Shadow of the Almighty IV

It had been a few years since that last experience, the magi, angels, Gaspar, a few bales of hay and a stall to bear a king in. Now we see Jesus, God and man, at the age of approaching adulthood, which in Hebrew culture is the age of 13. We pick up a few years  later from His birth.

“Joseph, how many are in your family.” Asked Mecana as they where walking up to Jerusalem for the yearly sacrifice. “Oh, just my wife and son.” Replied Joseph while pointed some yards back to Mary who was chatting with some other women. “Why?” “Well, I don’t know you that well, but you are the best carpentar and everyone knows it. And every time we go buy your place you have just all these kids laughing, playing and hanging around. Some of them even look like you.” Joseph laughed out loud. “No, Mecana those aren’t my kids. They just love the place and there’s enough to keep them busy.” “Plus I tell them stories, something they seem to thoroughly enjoy.” ” I suppose.” Said Mecana as together they crested one of the hills that seemed to never boast a top of reachable height. “You know, I make this trip every year.” Stated Mecana who after a few seconds pause resumed, “Every year I make sacrifice, and every year I am read to from the Prophets, letters those of Isaiah, with forth telling of the Immanuel.” “Joseph I am 57, I’m getting old, this trip is getting longer and still have I yet to see this King, this Redeemer who will take away all of my transgression, all of the need to sacrifice.” ” My existence on this earth bears no sign of a coming entity that will change the course of time forever. Doesn’t it strike you as odd?” Joseph didn’t really know what to say. He could see the scenario folding out in front of Him. Quickly he allowed himself to picture it. He saw himself telling his good friend that His son was the foretold fulfillment of prophecy and that an angel told him many things many times and such goes the list and that He was the Redeemer, that He was Immanuel. And at that moment Mecana would laugh so hard hiccups would follow and everyone would ask why Mecana was slowly dying, and Mecana would speak his disease to all and Joseph would be highly criticized. Not even to mention the trouble this would bring with the Sanhedrin council, if such word were to travel with accuracy to his name. Having thought of this in the space of two seconds he answered, ” To this day evidence has yet to be seen, in the world of the Christ, I would say tho, now would be a good time. Speaking of time, what time is it?” Said Joseph trying to push the cart in a new direction so to speak. Mecana obviously on a new course answered that it was just after the 2 hour. Joseph then took this opportunity to exit back to the line of women not far and discuss some things with Mary. While making his way back Joseph thought to himself, “Someone is going to find out, and when they do, it will not be an easy thing.”

Touching the Sceptor.

Most people are familiar with the book of Esther. Most people know of the ratio that was existent applied to her to be picked as the replacement of the queen. Most people are familiar with the plot against the race of Jewish lineage such as Queen Esther was as well in the line of. Most people know the phrase,” for such a time as this.” One of the things that people also know is that Esther was a Matriarch and a saving entity in her day. Most people don’t remember why. Those well versed in the Bible and its stories will recognize and pick up the small details, but the majority won’t.

Esther was an orphan girl who knew little of the world definition of wealth, happiness, and the fulfillment of life. She was a Jew from the tribe of Benjamin. So was David, Christ, Gideon, Saul. I mean come on! And I love this because God is so backwards. He’s the one who takes the people who everyone else deems unqualified.  Well, there was a king, who had a wife, the queen. This queen received a request by the king to come and perform in front of the honored guests that he was holding in the court. This was a 180 day party followed by a 7 day feast. A huge elaborate display of his power. But with immense power comes people who want you to die and your end to be near. The queen refused the request and was shown the door. Long story short, the country needed a queen. So one was to be picked. Now let me lay out for you the staff of the court. We have Haman,  King Xerxes, Queen Vashti and the servants of the High Court, Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, Abagtha, Zethar and Carcas.

Chapter 2 starts out with an assination plot for the king by way of a piano dropped on his head by two french peas. ( Veggie Tale Flashback.) Mordecai, the uncle of Esther alerted the king of this plot and because of it the kings life was saved. However, Mordecai was never rewarded for this great and noble deed. This of course is where Haman comes into play. Haman had been promoted in the palace and much authority was given to him. In this palalce there was a personal historian and timer to the king. This entailed a very detailed account of what happened during the course of the day taken down and recorded. These where then read to the king upon his request. This particular time the hours where read of Mordecai and his saving the king, who then asked what was done for him, upon which the reply, nothing. So king Xerxes asks the historian,” Who is in the court?” Upon which the reply that Haman was in the Court. The Bible records it like this- ” When Haman entered, the king asked him, “What should be done for the man the king delights to honor?”
Now Haman thought to himself, “Who is there that the king would rather honor than me?”  So he answered the king, “For the man the king delights to honor,  have them bring a royal robe the king has worn and a horse the king has ridden, one with a royal crest placed on its head.  Then let the robe and horse be entrusted to one of the king’s most noble princes. Let them robe the man the king delights to honor, and lead him on the horse through the city streets, proclaiming before him, ‘This is what is done for the man the king delights to honor!” This all happens after Haman manages to get an edict for the death of all Jews because Mordecai would not bow in respect to his new position.

Though this story has some real nice plot and sequence to it, it isn’t about Mordecai, the king, or Haman. It is about Esther.

The high point of this story is that after preparing herself for a year, she would be ready to be seen of the King. But, the year wasn’t over.

Esther has the odacity to come before the king without having finished the preparation required to see him. She comes on behalf of the race to which she belongs that is about to be annialated. She comes and the phrase that she uses is priceless, ” if I perish, I perish.” She comes and after all the time that she has put in it, is willing to lay it all down and give it all up because it isn’t about her. This is so amazing to me, because I know that the mark of a true leader is not only the one who shows holiness, and walks in obedience and the presence of God, but they also that take the risk of their life all for the will of God, for the sake of the call of the kingdom. And the story goes that the king found favor and upon the touch of the sceptor, the first steps to the freedoms of many were restored and evil was done away with. The point I want to make here is that we miss the sceptor. Alot of the time we miss the very thing that lets us into the realm and presence of God. We bypass the doors and the sceptor and we go straight to the king, filthy, with issues and demanding. I would encourage you, get your act together, get cleaned up, make yourself ready, because if I’m not mistaken Christ is coming back for a pure bride and a glorious church.

The Power of A Name.

Rarely, when names are given to something are the qualities of that name ever considered. There is much more to the property of a name itself that most people either don’t know about or don’t care to realize. Something that always ends up prevelant, is that you will become what your name means. It’s true. Now, you probably are calling me crazy right now. Like, what on earth is he talking about, really, my name determines who I am. Right. God it. Think I’ll name my kids rich, all of em except for the last and his name will be lavish on his parents that way I’m covered. Yet, that is exactly what I’m talking about. SO…. Check it out. Here are some names with destinational meanings. Most of there names are counter intuitive of their character at times, but not all the time. Abraham, in the Bible, his name was Abram at first, but then changed to Abraham, which means father of many, father of those who cannot be counted. That’s what it means! And thats what he was! Now your like, well Abraham’s name means that because that’s what he was. True, so let’s do this. Ronald Reagan, a name I picked out of the blue means this, A ruler’s counselor. Now what was President Reagan highly known for? He was a man of wisdom, and of great understanding. No matter what you think of him, these were his attributes and that was his name. Richard Nixon’s name means powerful ruler, asside from being exposed from a scandal, he was one of the more articulate Presidents and entities of his time. Do you think it coincidental that both of these names contain the word Ruler and both were presidents of the same country? How about Billy Graham. Billy, shortened to Bill, short for William, has this meaning. Protector of will, strong in word, orator of truth. Really, why! It’s because the name has a meaning. Do it, Look up your name, and see if it doesn’t apply to you!!! Here’s what the Bible says,   A GOOD name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold. -Proverbs 22:1

Why does it say that. Think about it, should the theory of names hold true, you don’t want to have the name that means, lowly and depressed with time. Won’t say what that name is! There is a quality of a name that most people really don’t care about. But time after time I look and compare the meaning of peoples names to the character I know they possess, and it always, invetably means the same. What their names mean, is who they always are.

The power of a name is as ancient as naming. All throughout mythology, examples can be found of secret names, names that had the power to destroy, and names that had the power to bring great rewards. In choosing a baby name today, parents rarely consider the weight that used to be associated with this task.

In some African cultures, the high infant mortality rate has inspired Abiku, or born-to-die names, which are intended to keep the children from death. The basic idea is that some infants are the embodiments of evil spirits, which enter and exit the corporeal world, necessarily taking the baby with them. The names are often a petition to the spirit to “stay and play the child” (as in the name Durosomo). Another name, Banjoko, means “stay with me”.

In our own culture, the Puritans named their children fateful virtue, and, in some cases, sin names, although they would never have labeled it magic. Nonetheless, a girl named Faith or Chastity was named so in the hope that she would live up to her name. The Puritans were trying to find an alternative to Biblical names, which they viewed as Catholic, or Jewish. Some parents went to extremes. Real names include Fear-not, Search-the-Scriptures, and the cumbersome Through-much-tribulation-we-enter-the-kingdom-of-Heaven Clapp.

Jewish magical names are often the first initials of a spell. One of the most well known magical names is Agla, which stands for “Ataw Gebor Leolam Adonai”, meaning “Thou art mighty forever, Lord”. In Judaism, it is forbidden to say the name of God, which, of course, adds to the power of God’s name, and to the fascination with it. A branch of Jewish mysticism, Kabbalah, is dedicated to discovering the sacred name.

Ancient Egyptians associated the name with the soul. It was believed that knowledge of a god or spirit’s name gave one complete power over that deity, and knowledge of a man’s name provided the power to do that man good or ill. A person could not exist without his name.

In ancient China, as in ancient Egypt, the name was considered to have enormous personal power, and for that reason, it was forbidden to speak the name of the emperor. People whose name happened to be the same as the emperor were faced with censure or even death. When Liu Bang of the Western Han Dynasty became emperor, it was decreed that anyone whose name contained the syllable “bang” must change to something else.

I guess what it all comes down to is what name have you let be assigned to you?

Preparation for the Blessings of God.

I just really like the sound of that. Preparation. Let me say this, you will not appreciate what you have not worked for. You cannot possess something that you are not pursuing. If it is given to you, you will not appreciate it. Prepare yourself for some thoughts that had to come out.

One of the things that we see in the Bible is not God spending all of His time lambasting his kids. Rather we see a God who really loves those that He calls His. Not even just loving on His, but blessing His. God loves to bless. He really loves to bless, the unfortunate thing is hat some people don’t believe that God is a blessing God. He is a God that loves to do this! In fact, it’s written right here in His word.  We see in Psalm 34:8 that God blesses the man that trusts in Him, because the man that can’t trust in Him won’t believe the blessing even if it was knocking on his front door. James chapter 1 talks about the man being blessed who endures. There are over 400 times that the Greek word for blessing- eulogeo, means to praise and/or extol.

Something that I noticed while just doing some research on the word blessing is that there are EXACTLY 365 times that God declares a blessing for you. There are 364 and 1/4 days each year. Enough blessing for each day and then some. However the are over 400 times mentioned for blessing? This tells me that God blesses us even more than He promises us something. So even if you aren’t promised something, know that you are blessed.

Here’s the thing, you cannot accept the blessings of God if your not ready. It is true that God said he would open the floodgates of Heaven and pour out blessing upon you so much so that you don’t have room enough to receive. However, if you are closed to God, the you are also void of His blessing. The phrase room enough to receive means that there has to be something to hold it in. In this case, it is you. If you are closed or partially open, then that is the kind of blessing you will receive.

A few things to prepare are prayer, fasting, seeking the Lord in all situations, and becoming more like Him in all that we do. The kingdom of God is not a democracy, it is a kingdom. In a democracy the people are the ones who dictate what goes on in the body, what they accept, or what they reject. The kingdom of God is a Kingdom! The land eminates the will and dream vision of the king. What the king does the people do. When the king says something they listen and take heed. It is time for you to eminate the kings, so much so that when God brings the blessing, you take it.

I was really challenged by this and I ask myself, ” If I am a vessel, which parts of me are closed?”  This is what His word says- The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. “Proverbs 10:22″

Now where do you want to be?

Video Project

So this has been part of my day consumed- Video. Was pretty stoked to have some of my fam here as is always a real treat when they come down. However I’ve got a video close to coming out and thought I’d give you the tour. When I start creating a video I start it with this-  Blankness.

Progressively I start importing and categorizing the files that I want to use and the things I think might make this movie better, into this bin. After that things are distributed into the timeline to be edited and this process can range from an easy few hours to many days.

After this I then categaorize everything and get ready to split.

Next I split my viewing box to my second screen to maximize my availability and to finish out my movie.

Very soon my video is almost done and I start bring the stages into posts like these!

Oops I did it again…

It’s right, I did it. In around 5 hours. Finished this track, and put it our. Unfortunately it took 8 times to get published up on video. The good news is that it isn’t in HD so you can view it even with a relatively slow computer. This is where you need to go. Trust me if you are a hick, who likes dance, and has bass in his system you will love it.
